Choose the Right RFID Chip

The chip must match the reader frequency protocol and data format. A writable chip does not automatically mean it will work with every system. NTAG and other compatible NFC options can be read by suitable NFC smartphones.

Will the key fob work with my existing access control system?

It can be produced with different RFID chips but the selected chip must match your reader and system. Send us the reader model required chip or an existing key fob sample if available.

Can you copy the data from my current key fob?

This depends on the original chip system security and available data. We need to inspect the chip type and data requirements before confirming. Some chips use fixed read only identification while others support writing.

Can a smartphone read the key fob?

Only versions using a compatible NFC chip can normally be read by NFC smartphones. LF 125 kHz key fobs require a suitable low frequency reader.

Can you make a new shape?

Yes. We have multiple existing molds and can also evaluate a new custom shape. A new mold may be required according to the design.

Can every key fob carry different printed and electronic data?

Yes. When required we can match the chip number or encoded data with a unique QR code barcode serial number or laser number.
